'Le Chateau'AT ROCQUETIERE.Believed to be used BY THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR hundreds of years ago.Re-built in the 1800's some time after the revolution,this pretty property is situated in the rolling country-side of Basse Normandy.The mature gardens are set around a stone lined lake that is surrounded with tall pines.On the lake sits a unique summerhouse that has an EIGHT POINTED STAR in the centre of the floor and NINE POINTED STARS outside,these can be seen but not walked upon as we are trying to preserve them.The 'summerhouse' itself has eight sides.By THE CROIX DE ROCQUETIERE is an old Roman road used by the KNIGHTS TEMPLAR on their travels to Bayeaux.We are still researching the history of this important Cross,[details printed here are beleived to be correct].
In the spring time there is an abundance of wild and wonderful flowers and near the sweet Chestnut tree there is Jacobs ladder.
In the Autumn, could it be even more beautiful?with the pin oaks changing colour from green to gold shimmering in the autumn sunlight.
